Amanda Fields’ work has also been published in Brevity, Cerise Press, Superstition Review, Siouxland Magazine, and reprinted in The Compact Reader: Short Essays by Method and Theme. She received a Minnesota State Arts Board Artist Initiative grant in 2006. She earned an M.F.A. from the University of Minnesota and an M.A. in English from Iowa State University, and she is pursuing a PhD in Rhetoric, Composition and the Teaching of English at the University of Arizona. She taught writing at The American University in Cairo, Egypt from 2006-2010 and is working on a novel set in rural Illinois.
