Beckian Fritz Goldberg is the author of several volumes
of poetry whose work has appeared in a variety of journals
and anthologies. She has received a Pushcart Prize,
among other honors. She currently teaches creative writing
at Arizona State University. Her most recent collection
of poems, published by the University of Akron, is called
The Book of Accident and was published in 2006.
Ms. Goldberg is a frequent contributor to the Indiana
Review. Her first piece appeared in Volume 13.2,
which included the poems “Beauty Sleep”
and “Moon in Adolescence.” Her next appearance
came in Volume 19.2, which featured the poems “The
Suitor” and “My Name is Romance.”
Following that, she appeared back-to-back in Volume
21.1 and 21.2.
The first issue contained the poems “Life Story,”
“Souls,” and “Twentieth-Century Children
(2)” while the second included “The New
Boy-Wonders,” “Torture Boy’s Watch,
Burn Boy’s Boat of Souls,” “Twentieth
Century Children (4),” and “The Life and
Times of Skin-Girl.” That issue also included
an interview with Ms. Goldberg, as conducted by Leilani
Wright. Her latest appearance was in Volume
25.1, which featured a chapter from Egypt from
Space titled “The Bird that Came with Memory.”
