Stuart Dybek is a prolific author of short fiction, novels, poetry, and non-fiction. He has won numerous awards, including four O. Henry Prizes. He has also won a Pushcart Prize, a Guggenheim Fellowship, two NEA fellowships, an Academy Institute Award in Fiction from the American Academy of Arts and Letters in 1994, and many others. Currently, he is professor of English at Western Michigan University. His most recent short story collection, I Sailed with Magellan, was published in 2003.

Mr. Dybek was first published in the Indiana Review in Volume 11.3. That issue included his short fiction piece “Her Backstairs.” His next appearance in the magazine came in Volume 25.1, which included another short fiction piece titled “Wait.”
