Karen Holmberg’s second book of poems, Axis Mundi, won the 2011 John Ciardi Prize and was published by BkMk Press. Her writing has appeared in such magazines as Southern Poetry Review, West Branch, Cave Wall, Black Warrior Review, Poetry East, and Cimarron Review. She teaches in the MFA program at Oregon State University, and is married to Aria Minu-Sepehr, whose memoir of childhood in Revolutionary Iran was published by Simon and Schuster’s Free Press in April 2012.
